A snapshot in the rain.

March 12th, 2014, 4pm

I lifted my iPhone up and shot, without even looking. Sometimes you have to let serendipty work without interfering much. For me, there’s something that just clicks with this photo — no pun intended. It’s not perfect, yet it is. It really conveys its essence of a captured moment. I’ve taken better street photos than this, but sometimes they feel staged, and of course in part they are: it’s when I wait for the right moment, when I carefully take a shot in a way that leaves certain unwanted details out.

Some other times I just need to shoot without aiming first.

(When there’s night or rain, there’s always black & white.)
