21C, the downtown art museum/hotel/restaurant, has traditionally put some kind of art outside of its building downtown. For the last couple years, it’s been a replica of Michelangelo’s David, twice the size and painted gold. The novelty hasn’t worn off. I still smile when I turn onto Main Street and see it looming over the sidewalk. When I drive out of town, I look for it from the interstate (it’s visible, just a few blocks away from the giant baseball bat in front of the Louisville Slugger factory).

"Just answer my question." I hear little Persepolis in English amid her father's impenetrable and delightfully rhythmic Farsi.
