Over a little wine on Friday night we spoke about how we could never live in a country that has constant sunshine. We would miss the rain, the cold, the snow (read sludge). It was the most British conversation I had had in a long time. A national feeling that you should never feel content with the good things in life because those good times could quickly become overcast and drizzly.
The point has been proven today because when the sun woke up yesterday it came out bold and unashamed. In the streets people trotted around, giddy with glee and grinning like Cheshire cats. In true British eccentricity there was a grown man in shorts! Today the sun is obviously suffering a hangover and has plundered England back into the depths of winter with icy winds, grey skies and a fine mist that will get through to your bones.
However rather than sit here and grumble about it I will think of the week I have ahead. Think of all the little and bigs rays of sunshine that are going to return to my life & be thankful that at least when it’s cold outside those rays will keep my heart warm and my passion ready.
Morning light on the last day.

Love it when the summer rain falls in such a way so the Victorian sash window can still be open, letting in the sounds of a warm night x
