Early for an early morning meeting. Taking pictures. Watching people taking city bikes to get to work.
Back home and the tent is folded and the laundry done. Have we come to a decision? Maybe.
The flowers, the low houses, the church, the sun, the salty air.
Mainly green, dark green, blue-green ocean with wind, yellow-grey beach and the oyster cases visible and the amazing soundscape always.
A glass of red wine and a plate of cheeses later.
Eating under pine trees. Sea moving fast. Wind. Lots of cicadas. A few cigarette butts and crushed bottles of Pepsi.
9:30 pm. Air cooler. In the dusk, can barely decipher the words on the page, Flaubert's Correspondance. BBQ odors.
Lake is warm. Swam. Bottles of water are under a bush, half in water. Misanthropy subdued.
At sister inlaw's. Provence. 9a.m. 25C/75F. Late rising. Croissants. Coffee. Newspaper. Cat asleep in the shadow of the cherry tree.
Morning café. 8 a.m. 27C/80F. In the shadow of a tree. Noises of the city getting ready, deliveries, street cleaners.
For whom the bell tolls on the balcony - eating a peach, drinking tea.
Not traveling much this summer, unfortunately.
