I had many moments of happiness to choose from today: a morning meeting at the Southbank and enjoying the lovely view of the Thames; my ‘Oranges and Lemons’ print order arriving from the London Transport Museum and meeting my sister after work for a yummy and hearty bowl of pho at our new local Vietnamese; but I decided on my lunchtime walk in Regent’s Park with a good friend and colleague.
Two young guys were sunbathing, in their shorts but topless, making the most of the unseasonably gorgeous sunshine, sitting in a ring of spring daffodils. It reminded me of Cezanne’s Bathers, probably because the ring of daffodils looked like the pool of water in that painting. Anyway, it was a happy moment as my friend was horrified that my day 2 picture would feature naked men. It put a smile on my face!
