Out All Night

February 3rd, 2013, 11am

Dance the night away.

I went into the bar to have my phone fully charged before heading back to my home in Taipo. I had just finished a nice little hike. I had my backpack and camera with me. I was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. Not the look to be going out. I sat beside this really nice girl named Clair. She is does educational assessments at one of the international schools in town. She felt like going out so she came here and we talked for a long time. Gradually her friends came in and I talked to all of them. She asked if I wanted to go out with them and I said “sure”

We walked to Sheung Wan, only a few blocks away from where we were. We stopped at the 7-11 to pick up some drinks. I later learned the place we were going did not serve any booze. The door to the club was medal and had “XXX” on it. We went down this dark stairway with lots of florescent paint around. We paid our money and went into the space. It looked like an abandoned place. Some of the rooms were not made up. There was music blaring and it was good music. The floor was concrete. There was a stairway leading to nowhere. The whole place looked like it was under construction and has been for a long long time. Everyone in the bar looked a lot younger than me, which is fine. I danced a lot and had such a great time. It felt like I was in my late teens or early 20’s again. It felt kind of weird as if I wasn’t supposed to be here. I felt like I should be home asleep and being old.

The night progressed and I met some more great people. I met Johnathon Ebron who is a music teacher at the Harbor School, an international school with a lot of special needs kids. He was there with his boyfriend but we had such a good conversation about the gay life here in Hong Kong. He seemed really cool and we had a lot to talk about. I also met all the friends around him and it was just well great. His friend was an Asian guy with a THICK Scottish accent. He was taking film pictures of everyone around him. It was really cool and a great guy to talk to about photography. We spent most of the night talking and dancing.

I got home at 5 am and just feel asleep. I couldn’t sleep that much since it was a wonderful night.
