Basically my thoughts are as follows:
On on hand, made-up stories could seem like a waste of ‘Copenhagen space’. When people look at a moment from a local café, then they might be confused by a story of time-travelling jetpack gorillas, instead of a tip about the best muffins to get there.
On the other hand, other services exist for such information, and in his thoughts about ‘hi’ (https://medium.com/p/4c78e6883ec0/), Craig Mod does seem to encourage people taking a shot at making this thing their own, and letting the community filter what works. This would be a narrative, but it wouldn’t exactly map the world. Hm.
On the third hand, (or tentacle, really) I am looking for an excuse to do some writing, and a place and a picture as an excuse to get going, is as good as anything, I guess. If the writing doesn’t work it can always be left to rot in the underbelly of the service. In a way, using a sketch here as an inspiration for a short story seems like a decent starting point, and if someone wants me to ‘tell them more’, that might be a good motivation to actually do it.
If anyone has some input one way or another, you could drop me a ‘thanks’ with a note.
