Yes, I know it’s July, but June seems to have flown by in the blink of an eye and I realised this morning that I never put June’s picture up, hence this belated moment!
So, here’s the June picture from my Burial Grounds calendar, which shows part of the grounds of The Church of St Mary on Paddington Green, in the Parish of Little Venice. It looks as though this was a burial ground in which headstones were cleared to the sides to make for a more open green space, as I don’t believe for a moment that these mark the actual burial spots of each person named on those stones.
I have never been here in person, but apparently the 18th Century actor Sarah Siddons is buried here, and there is a monument here to Peter Mark Roget of Roget’s Thesaurus fame.
