Things they have unearthed: a pet rock, and a rusty tank.

June 24th, 2014, 8am

Mornings: get up, put coffee on, open the blinds on the front window, and check for new developments in the construction zone.

A few days ago, they unearthed the boulder on the left side of the photo. It’s huge; big enough that they’re going to need a crane to get it out. They will eventually put a crane in, when the pit is deep enough, so I wonder if they’ll just keep the boulder until then instead of paying for another crane.

Time will tell how long the pet rock will stay, moving around the site with difficulty.

But this morning’s excitement was the tank in the upper-right corner. The backhoe dug it out very carefully, repositioned it for stability, and then stopped work. Time for a redo on the environmental assessment?
