I went exploring another of central London’s many squares during my lunch break today - this time Queen Square, created in the early part of the 18th century.
This statue caught my eye. It is of Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III, and was probably sculpted about 200 years ago. Considering its age, the surviving detail is staggering, although it’s not clear for how long it has been located outdoors, exposed to the elements.
This Square is dominated by buildings used for health care and medical research and I hope to post another moment soon showing one of these.
