Birdsong

October 11th, 2013, 12pm

It was 16°C with scattered clouds. The breeze was gentle.

I love birdsong! There’s not much that can beat it, in my humble opinion. So joyful (and sometimes very loud, even from very small birds).

This particular Robin was singing its heart out while I was walking with my wife at Leeds Castle in Kent just a couple of weeks ago. I managed to capture the open beak, conveying, albeit silently, the bird in full voice.

I remember a friend years ago once asked me “What’s the first thing birds do in the morning?” “They sing praises to their maker!” was his answer, and I certainly like to think of them doing that, and in so doing setting us a very good example to follow.
