The emergence and emergency barges of the Royal Subsurface Fleet (sometimes known as the Really Silent Service) normally spend three to five years on patrol in the underground canal network. They are resupplied from GPO depots and what entertainment their captains and crew need can be found at the snooker lounges of the Grunwick Centre. Occasionally though, less routine maintenance is required and the barges come out onto the river, normally under the false flag of a restaurant or bar.
The Indigent - a single-stack, Raleigh class, battleshop - is pictured here preparing for a hull refit and significant remodelling of its retail decks. It will leave equipped with an advanced patio area and all the capabilities you’d find aboard a fully operational Tesco Metro.
