This lovely terracotta frieze is one of several that are high up on a terrace of properties on the south side of Russell Square. The terrace is Grade II listed, and from the listing it would appear that these friezes were not original but were added by the Duke of Bedford after he was inspired by the building of the Russell Hotel (in 1898) - see here, here and here.
