Hither and thither, this way and that...

March 4th, 2014, 1pm

It’s been a long time since I was last able to stand on one of London’s bridges and just watch the world go by. Yesterday I did this (if only for a few minutes) from Blackfriars Station, and it was great to see so much happening.

The picture shows one pedestrian bridge (the Millennium Bridge), two road bridges (Southwark Bridge and beyond that Tower Bridge), and sandwiched between the two road bridges a railway bridge (taking trains into Cannon Street).

All were busy, with a fairly constant stream of people, vehicles and trains, which is hardly surprising given that this is central London! The River itself also had its fair share of traffic, but I’ll talk about that in another moment tomorrow I hope.

Christine and David Wade said thanks.
