‘Clock! Clock! [Point] … Clock!’
My one-year-old nephew was quite taken with my Starburst seventies-inspired clock, and insisted on everyone drawing their version of a clock on the blackboard. He shouted out the words, and then pointed to a family member to draw a clock, inspected the drawing before choosing his next willing assistant (Grandma insisted she couldn’t draw).
A blackboard is such a temporary thing, mostly used by me to plan my week’s menu (yes, I’m a Virgo so hyper-organised), written on and then wiped off, never to be remembered or thought of again. I like that in capturing it in a photo I have created a moment and made something temporary, permanent.
I’ve been practising mindfulness recently - it’s about being in the present, experiencing the moment, paying attention to, and seeing clearly whatever is happening in our lives. And savouring the moment, the joy. Being present.
