100 Ail is an area in UB that sells building and home maintenance materials. It’s on the outskirts of the city center, bordering the ger districts, and has been identified as one of the areas with the worst air pollution in the city - undoubtedly for the coal smoke from the homes in the area that aren’t connected to the central heating system in the city. There are efforts to relocate the shops, but that would entail moving the businesses of 100s, if not 1,o00s of small retailers.
Mongolia is one of the most challenging countries for any road trip. It didn't disappoint this time.
