Concrete and glass DNA (the Francis Crick Institute)

Behind the British Library, adjacent to St Pancras Station, this impressively large building is going up at quite a rate. A sign perhaps that the economy isn’t quite as shot to pieces as some would claim? I think it’s always been true that the number of active construction sites is often a good indicator of the state of the local economy at least, and right now there seem to be quite a few big projects under way in central London, which must be a good sign, right?

Although the outside of this building should be finished soon it is apparently going to take another 2 years to fit out the interior. Two years?!? The mind boggles as to what will be hidden deep within these buildings if it really is going to take that long…
