Being introduced to silence is no big deal. You just set up camp in rural Germany and wait till christmas eve. Around 9 pm, after all is said and done, you step outside to have a walk. You will be the only one on the streets of your cozy village of choice. The treasure hunt is over. There might be a gentle wind and a slight drizzle, snow won’t come till January. The ornaments, soon to be stowed away, are glowing in benign radioactivity. It’s ok, you can take photos, but please refrain from using your flash.
This is no anechoic chamber, silence is benevolent. Occasionally, a plane flies overhead, and probably some major street murmurs into your ear from not too far away.
As your walk has no real purpose, you can take it easy. Standing in any one place for too long might be perceived as loitering though.
