I have never been a huge fan of amusement parks. There are too many people. The food and drinks are over-priced. The kids tend to be hyper with some yelling and screaming. Being outside in Hong Kong can be too hot. With all of these negative things I have thought, I had an amazing time yesterday with some great people.
It was Gay Days at Disney where the LGBT community could come to the park, at a discount. We were to wear Red to show some unity. At the park we were given a special shirt which said Gay Days 2012, also in Cantonese as well. There were a lot of guys there but we were not the biggest groups. It was still nice to see so many good friends and to meet some new ones as well. I went with my close friend here and met others.
At the park we saw a few shows featuring Mickey, Donald, Goofy and others. We went to this funny interactive show with Stitch which was really good. I went on a roller coaster for the first time since I was a Primary school student. All I kept saying is “I don’t do rides. I don’t do rides. I don’t do rides.” It wasn’t too bad but I was just worried my bag was going to fall out with my camera and stuff. We went on the tea cup ride which spun us around and I felt sick afterwards. We went to “It’s A Small World” where I just wanted to sleep since I was tired from the night before. The night ended with a Lion King show and some fireworks.
I wrote on my Facebook page “It was one of the best days I have had in Hong Kong.” It is so true. I can’t wait to go again next year.
