Morality and Misunderstanding

January 11th, 2016, 11am

It was -15°C with scattered clouds. The breeze was gentle.

There are many firsts in life,

and you took a rain-check.

for almost every one of mine.

All of this strife

has destroyed me. I’m a wreck.

Sure, my first steps were observed by you,

but at my high school graduation

I had to tell them why you weren’t there.

It was when those tears stung my eyes I knew

that life isn’t fair.

I did not feel loved, or even valued.

I was betrayed.

“We love you” was insulting, and stirred

feelings so strong, I argued

with the depths of myself.

Things have quieted down,

I admit my pain, and

some apologies are uttered

from your lips. I am shown

The capacity you have to love.

David Wade, Shreya and GM RUHIES said thanks.

I love writing, photography, painting, singing, drawing, and if it involves being creative, then probably that too.
