It's Saturday. They had to refuel and now they've found a clay layer.

July 19th, 2014, 10am

Sadly, they took a giant jackhammer to their pet rock. It is no more. Then they drilled a lot of holes in the concrete, installed clusters of rebar, and welded braces into place. Now they’re finally getting back to digging.

The clay layer was a surprise. It bends into grey waves as it’s scooped up, and retains the impression of the backhoe bucket in soft layers.

Three and a half weeks til we move.
