A south-east London sunrise

February 24th, 2014, 8am

It was 9°C with clouds and visibility OK. The breeze was gentle.

Changing trains at Herne Hill this morning on my way to work, I saw that God had painted a most beautiful picture on the sky-blue canvas above us. I like to think that in doing so, His aim was to help all the half-asleep commuters below to wake up by getting us to gasp in wonder. He’s certainly an artist par excellence, and it worked for me!

The only downside is that the saying “Pink sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning” would suggest that we might be in for some rain later, although the forecast doesn’t suggest it. We shall see.

Christine and David Wade said thanks.
