It’s easy to be overwhelmed by all the monolithic towers in the downtown core, especially around King and Bay (the Financial district). But sometimes you look up, past a rare open space, and find some strange, squat little building that does not fit.
Spouse and I were just strolling, enjoying some late Winter sunshine, when we came across this building.
“Art deco meets brutalism?” she asked.
It was too cold on the fingers to look it up, but I did afterwards. Someone called it “postmodern” - since when is that a style of architecture?
I need to learn more about design, if only to satisfy my city-wandering curiosity.
