I wasn't too impressed with Petra during the day. At night-time however, it was a different matter.

December 2nd, 2013, 10pm

I had gone to Jordan just to see Petra. There were (a few) other nice places, but this ancient city was the main attraction. My first time there was during the day and it was ‘alright’, but not particularly impressive. My next visit was for the night-time show they put on. Wow.

I had managed to talk to a few people who talked to a few people who accepted a little money and allowed me early entry to this place. I got in half and hour before the rest of the tourists and also jogged the 1.6 km from the entrance to The Treasury.

This shot, which you should actually click on to see all of it, was a two-shot vertical panorama (vertorama) so that I could not only get in the magical candles on the ground, but also top off the awesome with the Milky Way in the sky above.

Now I’m not saying this is one of the best photos of Petra you will ever see…
