I wonder if buildings are quite happy to be photographed and stared at?
I expect one as ornate as St Pancras Station and the Midland Grand Hotel (now called St Pancras Renaissance Hotel) doesn’t mind. It was made to be admired. A bit of a waste of all that fancy brickwork and stone otherwise. A gothic masterpiece like this has to be stared at and examined at length to be properly understood. And it really is ornate. All sorts of fancy shapes that serve no useful purpose except to look, well, fancy.
And there she sits, having survived the bombing of WWII and the threats of demolition by British Rail, now reborn as one of London’s grandest landmarks. A building to be proud of and a building to admire.
And yes, photographed too.
