Office of the Air Marshall

It was 18°C with clouds and visibility OK. There was moderate breeze.

Once the High Speed Cycle Routes were established in the 1970s the phenomenon of Thick Air was discovered and the network of Air Monitoring and Warning Shacks was established - chiefly where the corridors of thick air bisected the cycle routes. The Office of The Air Marshall administered this network from a rococo treehouse in Regent’s Park; looking down on the main Cycle Route Interchange and in constant contact with the surgeon’s at the String Hospital. The treehouse is gone now, the cycle routes now overseen and automatically administered via MiniTech’s legendary Internet of Strings.
