I returned to Granary Square this lunchtime, part of the Kings Cross Central development. This Square was designed by Townshend Landscape Architects and others, and I think they’ve done a fantastic job, creating a public space that is engaging and beautiful.
The centrepiece - for me at least - is the magnificent fountains installation. There are 1,080 of them - arranged in four large rectangles of 10 x 27, with their actions choreographed with computer-controlled precision. They have lights under them too, but as yet I haven’t been able to visit at night time to get the full benefit of the effect. One day!
