Laboratory at rest.

July 17th, 2013, 11am

It was 32.8°C. The breeze was light.

When it’s not resting, this equipment is used for electrochemistry. I’ve been using it to deposit a couple of metal alloy layers which then get reacted to form the absorber layer for a solar cell.

My cells aren’t very efficient yet, but others with similar chemical makeup have reached over 11% efficiency. I’ll be happy if I get something like 7% with this process before I’m done with the PhD.
