In honour of National Poetry Day

October 3rd, 2013, 3pm

It was 16°C with few clouds. The breeze was gentle.

Water:

Life-giving. Death-bringing.

We need it - we love it - but only on our terms. When it comes uninvited we hate it and curse it.

Smooth or turbulent, sometimes deep, sometimes shallow, It mirrors our lives, our histories, our future days.

Lord, give me your water, that I may live. Help me reflect your life in mine.

(3 October is National Poetry Day in the UK, this year’s theme being “Water, water everywhere”)

Cassie and David Wade said thanks.
