Halfway between the sun and the moon

October 24th, 2013, 9am

It was 5°C with few clouds. The wind was calm.

I’m stood in the courtyard of a church, rooted to one spot. Surprised and in awe. The morning sun yawns through the leaves of an unruly bush behind me and there directly opposite the moon hangs high above the church’s roof, defiant against the starting day. “I found it.” I think and let out a small laugh. I ignore the looks of the commuters striding across the courtyard. Their flustered look as they have to veer around me, as I refuse to move from my spot. And it is mine now. I can claim it, but I’ll share it with you. For any challenger who can find their way here, only at this hour, only on a day like this. A sacred spot halfway between the sun and the moon.
