Day 28 #100HappyDays: Mothers

April 8th, 2014, 10pm

It was 8°C with clouds and visibility OK. The breeze was gentle.

I attended the London Book Fair today and got to hear bestselling Korean author, Kyung-Sook Shin talk about writing her heartbreaking novel, ‘Please look after mother’. A novel about mothers, generational gaps, family and loss. It’s worth a read, but it is really sad.

She said she wanted to write a beautiful novel for her mother, but she thinks what she has written is something sad. I think it gives a voice to the self-sacrificing mother, and reminds us to cherish our mums.

Adrian and David Wade said thanks.
