You’re currently holding two things you hold dear, one in each hand.

June 19th, 2015, 8pm

You’re currently holding two things.

You hold one in each hand, and both of them are dear to you. They represent the most important aspects of your life at the moment.

However, you start to feel them slipping. You can sense your grip loosening up. Maybe they got heavier, maybe they are requiring more out of you right now. You know that, soon enough, you won’t be able to keep holding both. You feel your heart getting heavier and heavier, until you realise why. You will have to let one of them go.

You will have to let one of them go in order to grab the other one with both hands. No matter how painful that might be, you will need to focus your efforts on one.

Which one to keep? Which one to let go? Will I regret the decision? Will I want to go back? Can I even go back?

I’m young and naïve, but this is the most painful decision I’ve ever had. Which one to choose? I can’t answer that for you, but I can give you a tip.

Keep the one you see yourself most comfortable with. You will live with that decision for the rest of your life, so make sure you own it.
