Today was an okay day - nothing negative happened, yet nothing super-positive happened either. Everything went smoothly at work. I got all my trip prep work done, in plenty of time. I went for my usual lunchtime walk in the park, catching up and laughing with my colleague and friend. I went for a quick drink after work and then a catch-up over a bowl of pho with my sister. Everything was okay.
I’m a third way through this #100HappyDays project and it has made me more balanced or content. I was trying to find the ‘happy’ moment of the day and couldn’t think of anything in particular. The whole day was ‘happy’ without being happy, if that makes sense.
And the photo demonstrates balance in action. My flat is decorated in a mid-century style, and if you look at Pinterest, all the rooms are not complete without the ubiquitous cheese plant. I’ve always liked cheese plant, mainly for the unusual leaf formations, especially the ‘holes’ which give it its name. I’ve struggled to look after this plant. If it doesn’t get enough water, the leaves start to droop, and if you give it too much water, it actually starts to cry, with tears developing on the leaves (it’s worth overwatering once just to see this unusual phenomenon).
The plant is reflecting my overall mood, finally achieving balance and thriving, even growing a new leaf!
