Our son has become an intelligent, thoughtful, resourceful, and responsible young man.
Our house is clean and at the moment, bug-free.
At the moment there are no mosquitoes.
We have drinkable tap water, and excellent water pressure.
We can flush our toilet paper because we are not dependent on a septic system.
We are warm despite the extreme windchill1 because we have a working furnace and a closet-sized infrared sauna we got at Canadian Tire.
We have a humidifier and lotion to offset the lack of humidity.
Clothes dry very quickly after washing.
We are healthy and we are home.
For those of you unfamiliar with windchill, it’s a measurement of the actual outdoor temperature plus the wind and what that feels like to the human body. When it gets below -40C with windchill they start saying things like “exposed skin will freeze in x minutes”. ↩
