I'd never seen the northern lights before. I'd heard that they were meant to be amazing, but nothing quite prepared me for what I saw that night.

March 27th, 2013, 6pm

The aurora borealis is currently the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in this world and I have a feeling that is unlikely to change any time soon. What really hooked me was the feeling that this green and purple display was alive, that it had a mind of its own. It was like a mist that swirled around me. It twisted and pulsed and weaved its way across the night-sky, leaving me speechless.

Thankfully, it was so bright that my exposure time could be merely a few seconds, thus managing to capture the Icelandic horses at the foot of this mini-mountain.
