It started with the maple that was damaged by heavy snowfall last winter. A strong wind would have blown half of it on to our power lines so Ed decided to take the whole tree down.
With this decision came researching arborist techniques and buying a 30-foot pruning saw, a chainsaw, and a wood chipper.
Once the maple was gone our garden was in full sun all day and became bountiful.
It was then that Ed decided the odd assortment of elms and maples at the other side of the yard had to go. We think they wild-seeded themselves between the shed and the fence years ago.
Today is the day they come down and we’ll welcome the all-day sun.
