Christmas warms my very soul.
twinkling lights and reddened evening skies;
snow is on the way.
my cheeks feel cold,
my eyes water slightly,
I am warm, and loved by this season.
My ears are blessed with Winter winds,
crawling up my spine, ignoring the
cover of my coat.
I am cold, but my heart is
warmed by the spirit of the season.
A lump forms in my throat, easily,
to my discontent.
Crying is not an easy event, but this is when
my tears form from happiness
and fall gracefully down my cheeks.
Cinnamon warms my tongue
while I sip tea, sitting by my
Christmas tree, done up with twinkling
multi-coloured lights. I watch my candles
sway with flames as I catch a hint
of their sweet scent.
Walking in the first snow,
my mind soars well above me,
I’m floating, freely, like the snow
I adore.
