And suddenly London appeared through the clouds.

October 26th, 2013, 5pm

Having taken a delayed and purposely slow flight (there was lots of traffic so we were asked to slow down - how do you slow down a plane? I’d rather not think about it too much) from the Netherlands to Heathrow, and circled a good many times, we started our descent.

It was a grey, cloudy day. And suddenly London appeared through the clouds. The familiar flow and bends of the River Thames, the bridges, and the landmarks, new and old: the new and controversial Walkie Talkie building, the Shard, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park and Kew Gardens.

I love London from the air! And it was worth the delay and circling to come across such an amazing view.
