Welp. Here I am. The last stretch in my college career.
In less than three weeks I’ll be graduating with a double major in English and Mass Communications. It’s surreal to think I begin graduate school at Plymouth State University this summer.
Many times over the years a student is asked if they know what they’re doing for their future. Students themselves worry if they’ll be ready by the time they leave for college.
After 5 years of finding myself and my purpose, I know I’m ready.
I’ll be pursuing a Masters of Education in Human Relations with a concentration in Organizational Approaches to Transformation and Healing. I plan on being a career and life coach while I help organizations become more community oriented and sustainable. There is only one planet, and it’s clear the way we treat each other and the planet will not sustain global society much longer.
To top all the momentum, I recently received news that my interview for a graduate assistantship at Plymouth State’s Writing Center went extremely well - I got the position! I couldn’t be more excited to strengthen my writing and counseling skills while I actively serve the PSU community.
My message to the world is this: never doubt yourself or your abilities. The universe will always conspire to bring exactly what you need at the right time, in the right place and for the right reasons.
I followed my passion in advocating for others since day one. For every moment I doubted my bright future, I repeated affirmations that I would succeed. That things would work it if I follow my passion. That I was prosperous and talented. That I deserved happiness, and that everyone around me deserved the same as well.
There was a time where I was homeless, and I didn’t think I would see past the age of 21.
I’m 23, and I think it’s finally safe to say I’m on my way to help and heal as many people as the universe will allow.
Grey skies and a lot of optimism
Looking forward at Franklin Pierce: A bittersweet walk through the Graphic Arts hallways.
