It was 11°C with broken clouds. The breeze was light.

The pheasants in the fields that my wife and I walked past last week were very good at hiding themselves. We caught brief glimpses as a head would emerge above the grass, move and then disappear, or in the distance when a bird would make a run for it to get to the ditch at the far side. But then this one appeared, and obligingly remained motionless for long enough for me to take the photo, for which I was very grateful!

David Wade, Stephen, Christine and Lia said thanks.
