Lost

June 22nd, 2014, 3pm

It was 23.9°C with few clouds. There was moderate breeze.

My mind is elsewhere.

I suspect it’s lost somewhere in thought but I wouldn’t know because it keeps eluding me. Today, at noon, a special event was to occur with a dear friend’s son and daughter but my mind took off only an hour before and left me behind. Of course, I missed the entire celebration with no excuse other than, “I forgot.” It’s really my brain’s fault, you know.

I suspect that if I’d found it in time, I would have been on task, in line and definitely on time.

Perhaps life navigates a course that’s meant to heave and pitch, tossing us to-and-fro as we try to make headway through each hour, presenting a new “test” of our endurance. Perhaps that’s what happens. But maybe, we just get so caught up in our own enterprises we forget to look around, really see what’s out there…on the horizon.

My only recourse today is to say once again (very sincerely), “I am so sorry, Sue,” with certainty that she will always remain my friend - something that has already been put out there for me to know.

Life is precious. The horizon awaits and if I can just locate my mind, I’m sure I’ll be back on course in no time!
